UNKNOWN (SADLY) FULL BORE RIFLE STOCK.
Full Bore Walnut Rifle Stock but SADLY, maker / brand is currently unknown! IF ANYONE recognizes / KNOWS what this is for / from then PLEASE DO let me know.
There are no clues other than a Branded ‘Decelerator’ Recoil pad. That appears original but not guaranteed. The two Main Action Screw Centre’s measure to 8 3/32″ (206mm). THAT IS CENTRE TO CENTRE / front to front / back-to-back of the two holes. Diamond Skip or Fox Cut Chequering on this which is usually a Deluxe option finish. As with the Rosewood Grip Cap and For-end tip. Another rifle may well have standard / plain cut grip areas and the same timber end to end. A White, Flush Inlet Diamond pattern to the Grip Cap too. Raised Cheek Rest to finish what detail there is.
In reality, the finish is similar to a Parker Hale Model 1200 Deluxe rifle. However, it’s definitely NOT recessed out to accept a Mauser style action. The general layout / format differs too so definitely for some other marque or brand.
It IS quite a Bonny Stock though, and WELL WORTH the effort of at least trying to re-unite it with a working barreled action! Strong Straight Grain with some High Colour Contrast and Pattern.
Oh yes!: The action has also been Fully Bedded. I will GUESS / state I suspect this is factory spec. and done. It’s an extremely clean and accurate job so if not then WELL DONE to whoever it was.
