SAKO VIXEN .223 BOLT ACTION RIFLE.

ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE  Condition / As New Sako Vixen AI Bolt Action Rifle in the EVER POPULAR UK Calibre of .223. If this had its original box and paperwork quite a few would simply advertise it as brand new. It IS THAT Clean, both inside and out. It comes in from the same owner alongside an equally conditioned Sako AII in .308 and a Ruger M77-22 Stainless. All three purchased Brand New and Seriously Well looked after since.

IF you can find a nicer example of any of the three then I suggest you buy it / them. At the same time pick 6 new numbers for a lottery as your luck is certainly running on overdrive!

23 5/8” (600mm) Original Barrel with a Trigger Pull length of 13 7/8” (353mm). Bringing in an overall at 42 5/8” (1083mm) and tipping scales at only 6 Lbs 9 ½ oz. (2.989Kg).

As said, this is as clean inside as it is out. The previous owner being what I will describe as a fully qualified and highly skilled ‘Old School’ Engineer. As such he picks exactly what he wants and also KNOWS how to look after it. The world would be a FAR better place with more from the same mould.

NO, NOT screw cut. Given the vintage it will be a crime to do so. Quite HOW anyone managed before sound moderators is beyond me. Unsure if the original open / iron sights are missing OR if they were ever actually there. He cannot recall but is certain they are not with him. The four associated screw holes are all currently fitted with original (?) flush grub screws so who knows.

The Stock shows a Good Strong Straight Grain right through and some pattern but minimal. As is any real or high colour contrast. That said, many actually prefer a simple plain stock in which case this will definitely suite. Chequering is like New and the same applies to the metalwork right through. There is not a mark to detail anywhere. Even the Hinged Magazine Floor Plate and Trigger Guard retains 100% of its original finish. The usual Sako ‘Double Dovetail’ scope rail machined to the action top. I will have a selection of suitable mounts available for a scope of your choice too.

CERTAINLY approaching if not already a True Sako Collectors piece. Not truly vintage as yet but it does not have long to go. Kept in this condition its is only ever going to get more desirable too. As such, very possibly, an investment that can still be used and enjoyed.

As said, IF you can find a cleaner example then by all means get that one. This is 100% a candidate for my ‘Sleeper’ category. Any and all of which to date have more than thrilled whoever purchased one.
