Yes, an older example but these guns are so well designed and built it makes little difference. A Seriously Bonny example with Highly Decorative Woodwork to both Stock and Forend. Very possibly Maple Walnut from the general appearance and colour. Some Excellent Contrast and Cross Grain Tiger Stripe Highlights too.
Bright finished Action with extensive Deep Cut Scroll Engraving all round. ¼” (6mm) Raised and Ventilated Sight Rib with Double Beads. Forend is in the wider style for an enhanced steady grip and hold. Currently set with Manual Safety but usually nothing more than a small push rod to install to go to automatic. For a gun of this age the Original Blueing is not far from almost as new. Also check out the top lever position when closed. Still way over to the right of centre. It never takes long or much use for this to settle in to its ‘official’ centred location. Yet another decent sign of just how little the gun has been used so far.
This IS also fitted with Striker Discs to the action face so way easier to change out a firing pin if, as and when needed. Not something you see on a modern day example as the feature just costs too much these days. ZERO movement between barrels and action too.
Basically a CRACKING gun that would do anyone for a lifetime of Great Shooting.
As for the Lead Sh-t ‘FIASCO’? READ ON:
THERE ARE more and more None Toxic Shot alternatives being produced. WITH near matching performances to traditional lead and close to, if not matching pressures. Take a look at Horton Gunmakers for their own entry into this debacle of modern day shooting. IF its so lethally deadly to shooters and game eaters how is it every old lead water main supply pipe is not getting ripped out and replaced? To my mind it’s a DISGRACE that the shooting industry did not simply ask that one simple question. NO, they saw an excuse to charge a fortune and that mainly to the detriment of the quarry. Just my opinion …..for what its worth?

YES, it will take a little time for everything to filter through but patience IS a virtue. It also allows everyone who wants to keep hold of their ‘old favourite’ for the rest of their lives. Even pass it on to the next generation and hopefully beyond!
