An ‘oldie’ but still ‘GOODIE’ Anschutz Model 1730 Bolt Action Rifle in .22 Hornet. The metal work shows minimal signs of much use so far. The stock verifying that comment with only very light marks to the original varnish finish too.
23 ½” (597mm) Barrel set to a Trigger pull length of 14” (355mm). Together they bring in an overall of 42 ½” (1080mm) with the bare rifle tipping in at 6 Lbs 14 oz. (3.109 Kg).
A Strong and Straight Grained Stock finished with Skip / Fox Cut Chequering, Rollover Cheek Rest and Schnable Forend Tip. Action with standard width dovetail and also drilled and tapped to accept suitable scope mounts. This HAS also been Fully Pillar Bedded. That’s a not inexpensive aftermarket upgrade itself and should prove to make the rifle an absolute tack driver.
As for this rifle I do have another in stock that does have an original mag. Whichever sells first can go fully complete and functioning with that. Equally some do prefer a single shot. It does tend to concentrate the mind to make that one count. Its an easy enough job to put a timber block in place and use like that. Obviously happy to look at the price for a no magazine purchase too.
With a little work it looks to be possible to update / swap out the housing and magazine from a 1740 model which were still available to order too.
Unfortunately, at time of listing we have no UK importer for these rifles. However please do bear in mind to buy the same basic rifle in the 2024 model would set you back in excess of £2000.
