CLASSIC Anschutz Model 1430 – 1434 Bolt Action Rifle in the EQUALLY CLASSIC calibre of .22 Hornet. Has to be a winning combination!
This dates to 1975 Vintage so will soon be 50 years old. Anyone out there born the same year (or anyone else) who buys it: Take even reasonable care and it will still outlast you to hand on to a son or daughter!
Also from the time when Anschutz achieved and gained its World Wide recognition for producing some of THE most accurate rifles available.
Original 24” (610mm) barrel so SHOULD offer that little extra for longer range accuracy on top. A trigger / stock pull at 13 ¾” (350mm) giving a conbined overall length of 43 1/8” (1095mm). Bare weight shows at 6 Lbs 13 oz (3.093 Kg).
Unusual (and I actually much prefer) Maple Walnut Stock with Raised Cheek Rest and Semi-Schnable forend tip. This features some Good Colour Contrast and Grain Pattern throughout its length. Also the usual (for that period) Skip or Fox Cut Chequering. To me always a Classy finishing touch that just sets the aesthetics and visual appeal straight into a possitive possition. Rosewood Cap to the Grip which is inset with a White Diamond ‘Oval’.
The action factory machined with standard width dovetail ready to accept rings and a scope. Cocking indictaor to the back of the bolt too. Another handy feature so easily checked without having to lift your head away from the stock. The Fully Adjustable Standard Single pull trigger breaks Superbly as it is. Detachable magazine too. Just DON’T loose it. Not easy to find even though there are likely hundreds laid about in peoples sheds, garages and gun cabinets! IF you have one ‘kicking around’ please do get in touch as I would be interested in some spares / stock.
