SIMSON SUHL GERMANY 12G OVER AND UNDER SHOTGUN.

12G Over and Under Shotgun by Simson of Suhl in Germany. Stamped up with Makers detail, the city and with Made in GDR to the left chamber area. The right with Spezial-Laufstahl (Special Steel). 2 ¾” (70mm) Chambers in the 28” (710mm) barrels finishing with a ½” (12mm) Raised and Ventilated Sight Rib. A single Brass bead to the muzzle. Fixed choke at ¼ and Full.

The 14 3/8” (365mm) Stock has little cast but is right handed. It may well work from the other shoulder. This is also Highly Decorative but a little dark to show off its best potential. Excellent Tiger Stripe Highlights to both sides and chequering still pretty clean and sharp.

When the light catches right this is a Very Decorative gun. Heavy Tiger Stripe Highlights running the Full Length and Both Sides.

It tips the scales at 7 Lbs 8 ½ oz (3.4 Kg) and finishes at 45 ¼” (1150mm) overall.

Action with light minimal engraving and only circa. 25% of its original Colour Case Hardening. The bottom features the Greek Goddess of Hunting with SUHL below. The same features on the original and still fully intact original butt plate.

The action retaining around 25% of its original colour finish and with light /minimal Engraving.

ALSO, BEFORE you start to ask ‘what about steel’ PLEASE DO NOT fall into this ‘trap’. Cartridge manufacturers WILL come up with an effective and price conscious alternative. It is actually ‘out there’ already. If not it means every single shotgun not proof tested and suitable for steel becomes obsolete. ITS SIMPLY NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Undoubtedly prices for cartridges WILL continue to go up as it’s a beautiful excuse for them to do so. Much the same as everything else after Brexit and Covid. Live with it. Shooting is NOT an inexpensive pastime. Also ask yourself genuinely just how many shots do you take per year. Even if it doubles will it cost THAT much more? If you answer yes then you obviously have a fair amount of shooting so CAN afford the additional costs involved.
